Materials: what this workstation is made of

We don’t cut corners on ready-made furniture. Here’s exactly what goes into the Au–23:

The desk top

• 25mm thick E1 grade solid wood pellet substrate. E1 means low emissions—better for indoor air. The solid core resists warping, even with Manila’s humidity changes.
• 2mm PVC rubber edge banding. Applied by machine, then hand-finished. Cheap edge banding peels after months. Ours doesn’t.

The privacy screen

• 30mm total thickness. Solid enough to feel substantial, not so thick that it crowds you.
• Aluminum frame with 1.2mm walls. Plus zinc alloy fittings that are 2.5mm thick. This is hardware that won’t loosen over time.
• 30mm E1 grade panel inside. Same material standard as the desk.
• Oxidative sandblasted aluminum finish. Looks clean, doesn’t show fingerprints, and hides minor scuffs better than glossy finishes.
• Frosted glass strip at the top. Lets light through while you work. You can see out vaguely; people see you vaguely. Perfect balance.
